F.A.Q.

  • Q: If I miss a class, can I have a make-up class?
A:We can’t provide a make-up class. However, we will email you what you have missed so that you could catch up on your own. If you have questions, our instructors will help you in class.
  • Q: By when do I have to pay to attend the class?
A:At least a week before the course start date.
  • Q: Do you have some classes for higher level of students?
A:We have intermediate classes for students who have already learned basic Japanese grammar. If we can’t arrange the appropriate class for you, we can provide either private or semi-private classes.

  • Q: Do I have to spend time for individual study?
A:Unfortunately, if you are serious about learning Japanese, studying once or twice a week in class might not be sufficient. We give students some homework in every class. If you would like to consult us about how to study Japanese, we are always here to give you advice.
  • Q: Can I join the course halfway through after the course starts?
A:Yes, you can. Our course is basically two month course for each level. However, you can join any of those courses in the beginning of every month as long as you have already studied required chapters of Genki book.

  • Q: Do I have to take classes continuously once I get discount for two months?
    A:Yes, you do.
  • Q: Does your school use only Japanese in a class?
A:We do employ English until we reach the practice stage especially for the complete beginners. In addition, we use English to explain Japanese grammar rules which could be very complicated to grasp often even for intermediate students.
  • Q: I have already learned some Japanese and I don’t know which class will work for me.
A:QLS Japanese GYM instructor will provide you with a free assessment to guide you in the right direction.
  • Q: Is there any end exam?
A:Actually, there is. If you don’t reach a certain level, you might have to repeat your course.
  • Q: Can I learn informal speech like Japanese people use in dramas?
A:In addition to the textbook, we also use DVDs and the Internet to show students how Japanese is being used in daily conversations.
